Apartment & Room Movers in Halifax, NS

Bachelor, one-bed, two-bed and three-bed units, moved by a crew sized to the job. Renters and condo dwellers shouldn't have to pay full-house prices to move a one-bedroom across town.

A moving truck loaded with mattresses, an office chair and stacked storage bins outside a Halifax apartment building.

Who it's for

Built around how renters actually move

Apartment moves have their own set of problems, and none of them are the ones a full-house quote is designed around. It's a third-floor walk-up on a street where the only parking is a permit zone. It's a building that only lets you book the elevator between nine and noon. It's a lease that ends on the last day of the month, the same day as everyone else's in the city.

We move a lot of these, so we plan for them: a crew and a truck sized to a unit rather than a house, a price that starts at $100 instead of a half-day minimum, and a realistic arrival window so you're not sitting on a stack of boxes wondering if we're coming.

  • Bachelor and one-bedroom units, including basement and garden-level flats
  • Two- and three-bedroom apartments and condos
  • Single-room moves — one bedroom out of a shared house
  • Roommate swaps where only half the furniture is going
  • Student moves around the September and May lease turnovers, especially near the Halifax universities

What's included

What you get for $100 and up

The base rate covers a straightforward unit move inside our service area. Extra flights of stairs, long carries and bulky one-offs like a piano-weight item are priced when we quote, so nothing lands as a surprise.

Stairs and elevators

Walk-ups, service elevators, awkward landings and tight Victorian staircases. We plan the route before we start carrying.

Furniture protection

Blanket-wrapped and strapped in the truck so nothing shifts between the old place and the new one.

Disassembly basics

Bed frames and table legs off and back on where it's the difference between fitting through a door and not.

Same-day disposal

Add a disposal run and the mattress you're replacing leaves on the same trip instead of living in the hall for a month.

How it works

Moving day, step by step

  1. Walk us through the unit

Size of the place, rough furniture list, what floor it's on, and whether there's an elevator or a loading zone.

  2. Quote and date

A clear price and the days we have open. Month-end fills first, so book about four weeks out if you can.

  3. Load-out

We arrive, protect the furniture, and load in an order that makes the unload quick at the other end.

  4. Into the new place

Boxes and furniture into the right rooms — so you're unpacking, not rearranging a pile by the door.

Questions

Apartment move questions

Does $100 cover a whole apartment?

It's the starting price for a straightforward unit move within our service area. A bachelor with a modest amount of furniture sits at the bottom of the range; a three-bedroom with a long carry at either end sits above it. Send a rough furniture list and we'll give you the real number before you book.

Do I need to book the elevator or a parking spot?

If your building requires it, yes — that booking has to come from the tenant, not the mover. Tell us the window you're given and we'll build the move around it. On the peninsula it's also worth checking whether you need a temporary parking permit for the truck.

Can you move a single room out of a shared house?

Absolutely, and it's one of our most common jobs. Roommate leaving, student heading home for the summer, one person's furniture out of a shared place — we only load what's yours.
