Those are starting prices — the final number depends on how much is moving, how far it's going, and access details like stairs, elevators or a long driveway. You get the number before you commit, not after the truck is loaded.
Yes, and it's often cheaper that way. A common combination is an apartment move plus a disposal run, so the old mattress or couch leaves at the same time as everything else instead of sitting in the new place for a month.
